Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT)

Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) Clinic

Real Help. Real Recovery.

At Gratiot Integrated Health Network, we offer Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) to help people recover from opioid addiction. MAT combines medication, counseling, and support to help you feel better, think clearly, and take back your life.

What Is MAT?

MAT is a safe and proven way to treat opioid addiction. It includes three important parts:

  • Medication – to help your brain and body heal

  • Counseling – to help you learn new ways to cope

  • Support – from staff, family, and friends who want you to succeed

This treatment does not trade one drug for another. Instead, it gives your body what it needs to feel stable while you work on recovery.

About the Medication

We use a medication called Buprenorphine (Suboxone®) to treat opioid addiction.

  • It helps your brain work normally again

  • It is legal and prescribed by a doctor

  • It reduces cravings and withdrawal symptoms

  • You can stop taking it when you're ready, with your doctor’s help

You may need it short-term or longer — your care team will work with you to find what’s best.

Why Counseling Matters

Medication is just one part of healing. Counseling helps you:

  • Understand why addiction started

  • Learn new ways to handle stress and emotions

  • Build a healthy lifestyle

  • Get support from others who understand what you’re going through

Recovery takes time, but you don’t have to do it alone.

You Can Recover

Recovery is possible — and worth it. MAT helps you feel in control again so you can live the life you want. But recovery is a journey. It takes time, effort, and support.

We're here every step of the way.
